About the job
KOMO, a next-generation precision genome engineering technology company driven by the power of high efficiency, evolved integrases is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Scientist or Senior Scientist to join its R&D team to play a pivotal role in cell line engineering and cell line development.
This role requires enthusiasm, dedication, attention to detail, and teamwork. The candidate will be responsible for mammalian cell culture and cell line engineering, construct development, cell line characterization, stability testing, single cell cloning, and optimization of assays for biologics, vaccines, and gene therapies. The candidate will be also responsible for HEK293 cell line engineering, viral vector design, and evaluation of production and gene incorporation. The candidate must have knowledge of complex scientific principals and concepts in fields of cell biology, protein expression, molecular biology, and/or protein engineering, including plasmid design, CRISPR, integrase, or transposase mediated GOI insertion, viral capsid production, stable and transient transfection, clone screening, viral product purification and titration, DNA cloning, and PCR.
Responsibilities
- Execution of state-of-the-art technology to engineer cell lines and clones.
- Define required experiments for AAV, LVV or other viral gene stable incorporation.
- Determine required experiments for upstream processes including stable and transient transfections, selections, clone isolation, screening, scale-up and fed-batches in shake flask, viral purification and titration.
- Skilled in molecular biology including recombinant cloning and preparation of expression vectors, RT-PCR, and other standard cell biology techniques.
- Perform antibody and other protein quantitation and assessment using ELISA, SDS-PAGE, western blots and other techniques.
- Contribute to cell culture development efforts.
